Lexmark’s CS/CX317 family of color laser printers and their multifunction (MFP) versions range in print speeds from approximately 23 to 32 letter-size pages per minute (ppm) for both color and black-and-white printing. Monthly duty cycles for the group are OEM-stated at 60,000 (CS317/CX317), 75,000 (CS417/CX417), and 85,000 (CS517/CX517) letter-size pages.

The supplies set for all models is made up of four toner cartridges, one drum unit containing four drums, four developer units and a large waste toner bottle. Replacement toner cartridges are available in three different yields and in both return and non-return versions. OEM-stated page yields range from 3,000 to 8,000 pages for black and 2,300 to 3,500 pages for color. The drum units yield up to 40,000 pages and the waste toner bottle holds up to 54,000 total pages worth of waste materials (36,000 black, 8,000 color). All yields are based on letter-size pages.

All models in this family ship with starter return program toner cartridges, with varying yields depending upon the printer model. All toner cartridges require a chip for correct printer operation.
